Where it all began

Who We Are

West & Jones was founded, by Lucy West, who believes that dogs are not just another species, but they are part of our family. Not barring the stories and images of dogs with severe injures from hidden barb wire, twigs or attacks from other dogs. The protective dog coat idea was born.

Today, West & Jones provides probably the strongest and toughest dog coat and accessories you could buy. Whilst remaining flexible and agile as your dog. West & Jones are Proud to Protect Your Pets

Our Mission

To prevent scenes like this.

This puppy was attacked by another dog and gained an infection/anti-body reaction. Several days in the vets and almost £3,000 Vet bill later. He is slowly recovering.

Finding our Way

A Spark

Our Founder's first whippet, Flynn, cut himself whilst playing in the garden as a puppy. A £300 vet bill later and a scar that remained on his thigh for the rest of his life.

A spark was ignited.

2005

Unexpected Opportunity

An unexpected email for an entrepreneur program popped into the inbox.

The idea from before rose and Lucy went for it- pitching her idea.

2018

Learning whilst Doing

Working on her living room floor, with no prior knowledge or patterns, sewing or fabrics, Lucy learnt from her mistakes.

Over 300 patterns were made to perfect the dog coat.

Using old curtains and bedding.

2018-20

Listening & Observing

The dog coat was not enough, listening and observing dog owners and their concerns. New ideas were forming to further protect dogs, one of these were the Dog Snood.

2021

Time Ticking By

Each prototype took six months to make at the commercial machinist. Tired of waiting, Lucy went on an evening class and brought a sewing machine strong enough to work with the fabric.
